Efemerity age

   Generation x has been considered one of the most conservatives by its successors: generation y( also called millennials- born between 1980-1994) and generation z (range from the mid-1990s). This opposition reflects straightforward to the values millennials might have.

   For participating in the period before the Scientific and Technological Revolution, salaried workers dedicated relevant part of the time getting essential to them and their family to survive. The less they had, the more they valued.

   Furthermore, the possibility of going to school or getting into university was a minor privilege because of the barrier that was there to face either studying or living with basic conditions, looking forward to guaranteeing a better future to their children. In other words, they were supposed to conserve because of the information scarcity.

   Naturally, due to technology advance over the last decades, society has been altered fast, which means that time seems longer as much as accessibility but new opportunities were also created, mainly to lower classes.

   However millennials are those who question ancient established limits, especially ideological conservation, they aim to unlimited innovation and boundless freedom. It seems so paradoxical that being immersed in information get them to manage it improperly. Indecision is constant among them.

   All in all, expecting to break solid ancient barriers has highlighted how many millennial values have been too flexible and too open. Bauman would consider them as "liquid values" based on the lack of theoretical background, beyond reproductions of original ideas: synthesis is more common than thesis and antithesis.

   We have been facing nowadays a preservation challenge: history and science have never been more questioned and society values are decreasing in quality but increasing in speed and facility. "Ephemerality" is the word that best contemplates this scenario.
